You can certainly capture and preview your work filmed at 4K (in Action! HD and Studio editions).
We generate a proxy (a smaller version - up to 1024 x 800) so you can preview the animation at real 24 - 30 fps. So, when you have finished filming you can export a MOV or stills at 4096 x 2160 pixels, so you can import it into your video editing application. You will find video editing software works in a similar way to SMP - they create a proxy file that you can view for playback and editing.
